I really wasn't a good student in high school. I used to talk more than listen. It never entered my mind to go out of New York for college, so I applied to Brooklyn College of Pharmacy. That was where my father went to school, and that's where I went.
I had a friend who would have me over to his apartment in Brooklyn and help me with pharmacology and organic chemistry, which helped me graduate pharmacy school. Because of that, I applied to medical school, and went to Des Moines College of Osteopathic Medicine, where I graduated in four years.
I got a bag from a drug company when I graduated. They gave me a hammer, a triangular hammer, and tuning fork. A 256-hertz tuning fork.
