The objects that surround us speak volumes about our lives.

They tell our stories.

About Us

About Still Life Stories

Be it a painting, perfume bottle, blanket or bundle of letters, the objects we keep, care for, and eventually pass along, reflect who we are – our memories and experiences, history and values.
Through artful photography and expert interviews, Still Life Stories captures and documents your stories by creating custom archival albums, prints and works of art that serve as an enduring legacy.

The Process is Simple

We meet in your home or at our studio, and guide you through a casual conversation about your objects of meaning (we'll even help you choose them).  We record, take photographs and listen closely.
We transcribe your stories and edit your photographs. Weaving these together, we create your custom piece of art.
You have created something extraordinary.  We deliver your custom piece. Enjoy!

What People Say

"You were an amazing interviewer.  I did, indeed, feel like I had had a therapy session. You really opened my heart.  I really loved the project and have shared my experience with many friends and family member.  I was extremely comfortable with you.   The time I spent with you stayed with me for many days.  I had dreams about my family the next night. Lots of nostalgia about that space and time.  You also opened my eyes to the thread that has connected me to sewing. Memories of my uncle and my grandmother, for whom I was named and the legacy they both passed on to me."
